Our client, a multinational company, active in oil and natural gas business, is searching for an
JUNIOR Service Desk Technician, in Geneva
· Incident and service request management (from detection and recording to service restore)
· Ensure hardware and software installations meet the company standards and comply with license requirements.
· Perform administration of the phone system, including;
o Adding and removing numbers.
o Resetting voicemail passwords.
· Perform LAN patching for both voice and data services
· Perform user and group account administration with active directory
· Administer file system permissions allowing access to shared folders
· Support printer devices
· Support company issued mobile phones and PDA devices
· Provide an out of hours support service.
· Monitor server availability, and backup success
· Perform backup tape management, including, monitoring, storage and restoration of data
· Ensure customer issued hardware is running the current company released virus definitions and respond to virus outbreaks or potential virus threats
· Support of executive management and board of directors meetings.
· Asset Procurement, Tracking and Disposal
· Essential
o Practical knowledge of support users on Microsoft Windows XP operating system.
o Practical experience supporting users on Microsoft Office Products (Office 2003)
§ Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
o Good working knowledge of network computing and TCP/IP addressing.
o Understanding of networked printers.
o Understanding of wireless access points.
o Basic understanding of VoIP systems.
o Working experience with anti-virus products such as Symantec, Trend and McAffee.
o Fluent in English and French
· Desirable
o Knowledge of management and application deployment products such as System Center, WSUS, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit etc;
o Knowledge of VPN software and remote connectivity.
o Knowledge of Blackberry Enterprise Servers and handhelds (BES) and other mobile email devices;
o Familiar with client backup applications;
o MCP, ITIL or other relevant certification
o Fluency in German
